Suspension Problem For Nissan Altima

Nissan will be alerting owners of certain 2012-2013 Altima vehicles about a manufacturing problem that could lead to loss of control of their vehicles. According to Nissan, certain vehicles may have been manufactured with a transverse link bolt and power steering rack bolts that were not torqued to the proper specification. Nissan Quest Stalling Engine

Nissan is recalling certain 2011-2012 Nissan Quest minivans because the engine could stall unexpectedly. According to the recall report filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), while idling or driving at slow speeds on an incline with ¼ tank or less of fuel, the engine could stall due to an insufficient supply of fuel to the engine. Nissan will be notifying owners starting in March, and dealers will correct the problem by reprogramming the fuel pump control module. Nissan Fuel Pressure Sensor May Leak

Nissan is recalling certain Nissan and Infiniti vehicles for a fuel pressure sensor that may not have been tightened to the correct manufacturers specifications. The sensor may loosen as a result of heat and vibration, causing fuel to leak and increasing the risk of fire. Nissan will inspect and replace the the fuel pressure sensor as necessary. Nissan has announced that they will be recalling certain Nissan and Infiniti vehicles for oil cooler and oil filter bolts that may have been manufactured below specifications. If the bolts break, sever oil leaks could lead to a reduced engine oil pressure and eventually to a seized engine. Under the recall Nissan will replace the connector bolts on the following vehicles:

Nissan Sentra Stalling Problems

Nissan is recalling certain 2010-2011 Sentra vehicles equipped with MR20 engines. According to the recall report filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the zinc coating applied to the battery terminal stud bolt may be too thick. The poor connection could result in a voltage drop causing the vehicle to stall, make the vehicle difficult to start, and could damage the engine control module (EMC). Transmission Problems For Nissan

Owners of some Nissan trucks and sport utility vehicles (SUV) are urging the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to open an investigation for transmission problems. Reports filed with the NHTSA alleged that an internal crack on the oil cooler tube in some Pathfinders, Frontiers and Xterras, could force coolant into the transmission causing transmission failure. Last October, Nissan extended the warranty on radiators of 2005-2010 Frontiers, Pathfinders, and Exterras to eight years or 80, 000 miles, but under the extended warranty, Nissan did not have to cover vehicles bought used. Owners feel that Nissan extended the warranty on these vehicles, knowing they would surpass 80,000 miles before having problems with the transmission. They want Nissan to issue a recall to all owners and reimburse those who have already paid for transmission repairs.

Nissan Investigated For Brake Problems

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is investigating brake problems with the 2007-2008 Nissan Altima, after receiving twenty complaints of loss of braking power. Altima drivers complained that the “brake warning” light would come on intermittently while driving, and after taking in the vehicle for service, were told that the brake master cylinder was leaking and needed replacement. If the investigation should lead to a recall, almost 440,000 2007-2008 Altimas could be affected.

In 2008-2009, Nissan recalled over 160,000 2007-2008 Sentra vehicles for the same problems.

Corrosion Investigation For Nissan And Infiniti

corrosion problems for nissan pathfinder and infiniti QX4The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) have opened an investigation into 1996-2004 Nissan Pathfinders and 1997-2003 Infiniti QX4 vehicles over corrosion issues. There have been 35 reports of failure of the front suspension with over half of the complaints saying that steering control was affected. If the investigation should lead to a recall, over 400,000 Pathfinders and QX4 vehicles could be recalled.
