Ford is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Ford Explorer vehicles manufactured January 17, 2014 to May 31, 2014. According to the defect report filed with the NHTSA, the rear suspension toe links may have insufficient welds. If the rear suspension toe link welds fracture, it could cause a loss of steering control, a difficult steering condition, or rear suspension noise.

Those receiving notices will be asked to return to their Ford dealers to have the toe links replaced. Owners wanting more information about the problem are asked to contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford’s number for this recall is 16S18 and the NHTSA campaign number is 16V-245.
