Volkswagen will be asking almost two thousand 2013 Audi Q7 owners to return their cars to an approved repair facility for a problem that could result in loss of power brake assist. The vehicles affected are equipped with a 3.0L TDI engines and were manufactured between June 5, 2012 to November 29, 2012.

According to the safety report on the NHTSA website, it is possible that plastic debris could enter the engine check valve allowing small amounts of engine oil to enter the brake booster. Over time, the presence of oil could result in a ruptured brake booster diaphragm and complete loss of power braking assist.

Owners of affected vehicles will be notified and instructed to arrange for an appointment with an authorized Audi dealer to inspect the brake booster system for oil contamination and replace the vacuum lines in all affected vehicles.
