Automakers and Dealers Oppose Rental Recall Bill

NTSB Recommends Lower Blood Alcohol Levels

According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), approximately 10,000 people die in drinking and driving related crashes every year. In an attempt to reach a goal of zero alcohol and impaired related deaths, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are recommending that states implement laws that will work toward that goal. Fisker Auto Forced Into Bankruptcy

Additional financing and the transferring of executives could not save Fisker and the fact that consumers are reluctant to purchase electric vehicles (EV). With a $104,000 price tag, the Fisker Karma lost out to other auto makers like Ford and Nissan who offer a more affordable EV. At the 2012 New York auto show, Fisker unveiled a smaller, less expensive concept model it hoped to build in an abandoned G.M. plant in Delaware, but production never started because of lack of funds. Broadened WiFi Could Affect Auto Safety

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) are proposing new rules that will let new users use frequencies allocated to developing car to car communications. Automakers and suppliers are saying that the broadened Wi-Fi use could potentially cause problems with accident prevention technology in vehicles, and they have sent a letter to the FCC protesting the plan.
