Another batch of Chrysler recalls will have certain Dodge, and Jeep SUVs returned to the dealership to repair engine cooling, airbags, and possible vehicle roll away problems. General Motors have announced a recall for over 38,000 Chevrolet and Buick sedans equipped with its “eAssist” mild hybrid system. According to GM overheating of the circuit boards in the Generator Control Module (GCM) could result in loss of battery charge, the illumination of the engine malfunction indicator light, and in extreme cases, a fire in the trunk. Two trunk fires have already been reported as a result of the issue. (more…)

Hyundai is recalling over one million vehicles for a defective stop lamp switch that could experience an intermittent switch point contact. This condition could result in intermittent operation of the push button start feature, the inability to remove the transmission from the “park” position, illumination of the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) warning lamp, intermittent interference with operation of the cruise control, and intermittent operation of the stop lamps. Chrysler is recalling certain 2013 Dodge Challenger vehicles manufactured in December 2012 and January 2013 and equipped with a V6 engine. Honda is recalling certain model year 2004-2008 Acura TSX vehicles originally sold in or currently registered in states that use corrosive materials for deicing. According to Honda, moisture and chemicals used to melt snow and ice can be brought into the vehicle by the driver’s footwear, saturating the floor carpet. (more…)
